Herbal Medicine Plantation of Bozhou

The garden of medicinal plants of Qiaodong Town, Bozhou is a garden based on the planting of herbal medicines, situated 8 km in the eastern suburb of the city. The whole garden occupies 2,100 mu and the central area occupies 100 mu, integrating herbal medicine cultivation, demonstration, scientific research and tourism into one. Since it was opened in 2000, it has received 100,000 visitors from different places annually. International visitors have also travelled to the garden for several times and spoken very highly of it.

 

The garden has been approved by the National Tourism Administration as a national scenic spot of agricultural tourism. With a rudiment of ecological agriculture and tourism agriculture, the garden is the first garden of medicinal plants in Anhui Province. The garden grows more than 200 types of herbal medicines, and the number keeps increasing year after year. Many precious trees such as gingko, Eucommia ulmoides, Platycladus orientalis and black locust trees are planted on both sides of the road in the garden, which make a pleasant shade for the garden in four seasons. The hundreds of species of herbal medicines in the base are different in production characteristics, their flowering seasons are also different, which has formed a spectacular view of "flowers of different colors blossoming in four seasons". The thick scent of the herbal medicine is spread to the surrounding areas, and can be smelled miles away, which has beautified the ecological environment of agriculture, achieved good ecological benefits and embarked upon a sustainable development path of modern agriculture.
