In April 2006, Anhui Bozhou Industrial Park, a provincial level industrial park, was approved by Anhui Provincial Government. Located in the western part of Bozhou, it covers a construction area of 25 km2. In November 2012, a new round of area expansion plans has been submitted to the provincial government for approval.
The overall planning of the space layout forms a structure of "one axis, two cores, three belts and five districts". The park’s positioned to be a leading industry base, circular economy oriented ecological park, medicine, trade and logistics center, and modern industrialized new town. Priority will be given to developing two leading industries, namely traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing and labor-intensive processing industry. It was successively selected as "National Agricultural product processing & Venture Base", "Agricultural Industrialization Demonstration Area in Anhui Province", and etc.
187 projects have entered Bozhou Industrial Park, 114 of which have been put into operation, and 88 of which are industrial enterprises above designated size. There are 40 projects with a fixed asset over RMB 100 million. The industry clusters are as follows: modern traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing industry cluster led by Anhui Jiren Pharmaceutical Group, Guang Yin Tang Pharmaceutical Corporation, Xiehecheng Pharmaceutical Group, South Medicine Manufacture Base Hutchison Whampoa Guangzhou Baiyunshan Chinese Medicine Company Limited under Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group, Tianjin Zhongxin Pharmaceutical Group, Heilongjiang Zhengbaodao Pharmaceutical Group, Shenyang Hongyao Pharmaceutical Group; clothing, shoe and hat processing cluster led by FIRS Costumes, Anta XiBao Shoes & Clothes and Jingquan Costumes; agricultural and sideline product processing industry cluster led by Rui Fu Xiang Flour,Wu De Li Flour and Huahai food; electronic product processing industry cluster led by Lanto Electronics Co., Ltd and Qifang Technology Co., Ltd; 4S car shop industrial cluster led by Spring Rain International Auto City, the largest of its kind in the northern part of Anhui. Five major professional markets, five high-standard commercial & residential areas, five well-equipped resettlement areas with beautiful environment, two middle schools and a Grade III class A hospital are built in the industrial park.
