Occupying an area of about 68 km2, Bozhou Economic Develop Zone is positioned as a "high-tech industrial development area, social business community and well-developed residential area". It is divided into three parts, namely the Eastern Part focusing on commerce & trade, market, logistics, vocational education, Central Part focusing on the residential and commercial building, finance, administrative office, and the Western Part focusing on the industrial park construction. By the end of 2012, roads with a length of 93.4 km have been built and 17.3 km of roads are under construction. A 48-square-kilometer road network has been formed. Road greening projects and urban landscape projects including municipal parks and Longfeng Xinhe River are concurrently carried out, and the landscape is emerging. 13 resettlement residential areas have been built as planned with a total construction area of 5.743 million square meters. More than 42,000 households have been resettled, with a total investment of about RMB 11.022 billion. The industrial area was officially put into operation since April 2009, and has undertaken 82 projects. The total investment in the projects reached RMB 14.595 billion, covering an area of 9,367.18 mu. There are over 34 projects with an investment over RMB 100 million as well as 68 modern traditional Chinese medicine projects. At present, listed companies and domestic famous pharmaceutical companies such as Kangmei Pharmaceutical Group, Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group, Jinghua Pharmaceutical Group, Shuzhong Pharmaceutical Group, Wantong Pharmaceutical Group, Wanxi Pharmaceutical Group, Shuanghe Pharmaceutical Group and Tianjiang Pharmaceutical Group have settled down here and the industrial agglomeration effect can been preliminarily seen. After the completion, the Economic Develop Zone will become the political, economic and cultural center of Bozhou.
