On the morning of September 18, the opening ceremony of the 2023 Fifth China (Bozhou) International Health Qigong Expo, the First National Health Qigong·Wu Qinxi Exhibition Competition, and the 14th Huatuo Wu Qinxi Health and Fitness Festival opening was held at Anhui Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology School.
This event was hosted by the Health Qigong Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Health Qigong Association, the Anhui Sports Bureau, and the Bozhou Government. The event's theme was “Promoting Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture and Practicing the Traditional Wuqinxi”. The event will be held online and offline, with overseas teams participating in online competitions and domestic athletes and international students from relevant universities participating in offline competitions. During this period, we organized lectures by Health Qigong fitness experts to popularise Health Qigong, voluntary service activities supported by the National Health Qigong revitalization group (Bozhou Station, Anhui). In addition, there are activities like “Feeling the Chinese Medicine Culture, Tasting Medicinal Food”, and “Travelling through the Eastern Han Dynasty to Experience the Hua Tuo Legacy” Hanfu Parade.
As the “International Capital of Health Qigong Wuqinxi”, Bozhou has always been committed to the inheritance, development, and popularization of Wuqinxi. It has given full play to the power of social organizations and the masses by innovatively carrying out large-scale Wuqinxi demonstrations, exchanges, and exhibition activities. Furthermore, it created high-quality events by constructing a solid mass foundation of exercise and fitness awareness. Bozhou will take this event as an opportunity to work with guests worldwide to reflect on the publicity experience and deepen exchanges and cooperation to integrate pioneer and innovation. Also, Bozhou will strengthen the construction of national fitness venues and facilities to improve the national fitness system and organizational network to enhance fitness awareness of the general public and youth. Last but not least, Bozhou will promote the emergence of national fitness and national health, strive to improve the high-quality development of sports in Bozhou City, and positively contribute to constructing a strong sports country and a healthy China.
Health Qigong is essential to China's excellent traditional culture and has demonstrated its unique charm through thousands of years of undulating inheritance. Anhui Province's Health Qigong popularisation has always been at the forefront of the country. Bozhou City has successfully held four consecutive China International Health Qigong Expos, which have attracted positive responses nationwide and internationally. This event will promote China's exceptional traditional culture, strengthen Sino-foreign sports exchanges, and promote local economic and social development.
