The magnificent medicine exhibition came after the joyful Mid-autumn Festival. At 9:18 on the morning of September 9, the 2014 International?(Bozhou) Traditional Chinese Medicine Exhibition and the 30th National (Bozhou) Traditional Chinese Medicine Trade Fair kicked off in the Tianmu Theater of Weiwu Square in the city downtown. Li Weihua, Vice-chairman of Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of Anhui Federation of Industry and Commerce, announced the opening of the exhibition. Yang Jingnong, Secretary of Bozhou Municipal Committee of CPC and Director of the Standing Committee of Bozhou People’s Congress, Fang Shuting, President of China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhang Yuxuan, Mayor of Yeongju City in South Korea, Mei Qun, President and General Manger of Beijing Tong Ren Tang Group Co., Ltd., Wang Shoumeng, Director of the Economic Committee of Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Chang Jianping, Director of the Health Qigong Management Center of General Administration of Sport of China, Feng Chao, Director of the Sports Bureau of Anhui Province, Tang Yong, Chairman of Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Wang Yiguang, Deputy Secretary of Bozhou Municipal Committee of CPC, attended the opening ceremony.
　　This exhibition was cosponsored by People’s Government of Anhui Province, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and organized by the People's Government of Bozhou City, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Anhui Sub-council, Beijing Tong Ren Tang Group Co., Ltd. and Kangmei Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It continued to adhere to the idea of holding exhibitions thriftily, and compared to nine activities last year, the exhibition this year only had seven activities totally, four of which were business and exchange activities. The high-end exchange platforms centering on medicine were more professional.
　　At the opening ceremony, Yang Jingnong extended a warm welcome to all leaders and guests attending the exhibition on behalf of Bozhou Municipal Committee of CPC, People's Government of Bozhou City and 6,330,000 Bozhou people.
　　Yang Jingnong said that Bozhou City, always adhering to “building the city with pharmacy”, focusing on building a pharmaceutical industry with a total output value of “RMB two hundred billion” and accelerating the construction of a modern medicine city in China, has preliminarily formed a modern traditional Chinese medicine industry integrating herbal medicine planting, decoction pieces processing, patent medicine manufacturing, logistics and trading, health care, science and education, R&D, etc. This exhibition aims to construct a cooperation and exchange platform for all colleagues in the field of medicine, promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine and benefit the health of humans.

　　Fang Shuting, President of China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, pointed out that Bozhou, being the hometown of Hua Tuo and an important?birthplace of traditional Chinese medicine culture, comes top in the four medicine cities in China, and the Medicine Exhibition in Bozhou has become the most influential brand of professional traditional Chinese medicine conference. I sincerely hope that all colleagues in the field of medicine can further strengthen exchanges and cooperation and make greater contributions to carrying forward traditional Chinese medicine culture and promoting the sound development of traditional Chinese medicine through the platform of Medicine Exhibition.

　　After the opening ceremony, there was an intangible cultural heritage performance of “medicine city in China” and the performance of Charms of Five Animals in the Sixth Hua Tuo’s Five-animal Exercises Health Qigong Festival held on the site, which showed the historical heritage of the ancient city Bozhou to the guests.
