Located in the joint border of Jiangsu ,Shandong, Henan and Anhui, Bozhou was approved as a city directly under the government of Anhui Province by the State Council in May of 2000, governing Guoyang, Mengcheng, Lixin Counties and Qiaocheng District. It covers an area of 8374 square kilometers and has a population of 5,880,000.
