On the morning of January 13, a calibration aircraft from Beijing steadily landed on the runway at Bozhou Airport from west to east. The arrival of this "special visitor" marks the official launch of flight inspection at Bozhou Airport, transitioning the airport from the "Construction" phase to a new phase of "Takeoff".
This 6-day flight inspection task is being carried out by the Flight Inspection Center of the CAAC. After the completion of flight inspection, a flight inspection report will be obtained before the application for the official approval of flight procedure design and for the test flights can be submitted. "After the flight inspection, there are some other tasks to be done, like engineering acceptance, test flights, flight scheduling, etc., and it will take some time for the airport to be officially opened to regular flights," said a worker at Bozhou Airport.
After being officially opened to regular flights, the Bozhou Airport will meet the demand of an annual passenger throughput of 1 million people, a cargo and mail throughput of 2,650 tons, and 6,404 aircraft movements. It will fill the gap in air traffic in Bozhou, facilitate residents' travel, and enhance the Bozhou’s image, thus promoting the development of Bozhou's unique industries and tourism and contributing to the economic and social development of Bozhou and its surrounding areas.
