In 2024, Bozhou City exported a total of 660 million yuan of Chinese herbal medicine, a year-on-year increase of 21.7%, accounting for 88% of the total value of exports of Chinese herbal medicines in Anhui Province.

To support the expansion of Chinese herbal medicine exports in the jurisdiction, the Bozhou Customs has leveraged its functional role by intervening early in the planting process. The Customs guided enterprises to strictly control the use of pesticides and chemicals, and encouraged them to improve self-inspection and control, as well as traceability management systems, continuously enhancing the full chain supervision system "from raw herbal materials to exported finished products". At the same time, they implemented rapid response for customs inspections, inspecting on demand, efficiently releasing goods, thereby facilitating a "green channel" for local inspections to accelerate the export of Chinese herbal medicine.

Relying on the research and deliberation base for technical trade measures for Chinese herbal medicine in Bozhou, Bozhou Customs comprehensively reviewed the regulations and standards of the countries or regions where Chinese herbal medicine under its jurisdiction are exported to, followed up and studied the changes in the foreign technical trade measures, and issued risk warning information to the enterprises, so as to help them identify and avoid risks in a timely manner. “In order to accurately meet the needs of enterprises, we organize key service-oriented personnel to conduct ‘one-on-one’ in-depth visits and research in enterprises, dynamically grasping the difficulties and expectations of enterprises. Based on the demands of enterprises and the characteristics of products, we proactively offer policies to them, provide targeted solutions, and implement precise measures to effectively address the challenges of exporting traditional Chinese medicine materials,” said Dai Yuqing, head of the inspection department of Bozhou Customs.
